From the East Coast or Europe, routing via Seattle is usually cheaper but adds 2 to 3 hours each way. Direct ANC flights from LAX, SFO, or DEN are worth the premium for a short trip. Avoid routing both directions via the same city to protect against weather-related misconnects.
