Hotel Captain Cook, Anchorage

Hotel Captain Cook is the best-known hotel in Anchorage and the one most closely tied to the city’s own history. Independently owned rather than part of a chain, it occupies a full downtown block in three towers, with dark wood interiors that have aged into being the point rather than a drawback.
